Fall is unmistakably the busiest time for family and senior photos, and for good reason. Beautiful autumn foliage can't be beat and the reprieve from summer heat is welcome every year. Let me share some of the best locations for fall photos in the greater Joplin area.
Wildcat Glades in Joplin, MO
Wildcat Glades is one of my all-time favorite places for photography, no matter the season. It consistently ranks as a top spot for capturing photos. The area features mature trees, winding paths and trails, expansive fields, lovely flowers, and, in the fall, stunningly vibrant leaves. Children enjoy exploring Wildcat Glades, and parents appreciate the convenient photo spots located right next to the parking lot, making it easy to manage with young kids and quick for older ones. This family photo session took place last fall at Wildcat Glades in Joplin, MO, and it was among my favorites of the season.
Have a high school senior interested in fall photos? Wildcat Glades is an ideal location. This session was photographed in late September, marking the beginning of the fall season. The setting is stunning at this time and offers a diverse backdrop for senior photos all in one place. From open fields to wooded areas, there's plenty to explore. Gracelyn selected props to showcase her interests, adding a personal touch to her senior photos. Take a look at her senior portraits at Wildcat.
The Grove, Carthage, MO
If you're a fan of fall Maples, consider visiting The Grove in Carthage for some vibrant colors. My highly sought-after fall mini sessions, which sold out within minutes, were held at this stunning and exclusive location. Keep in mind that The Grove is a private residence, so you must bring your photographer and have them book in advance to shoot there. It's truly worth it—the leaves are incredibly bright, and the setting is delightful.
The bridge on Thoms Stations Trail in Carl Junction, MO
Another popular spot for fall is the bridge on Thoms Station Trail. You can park on a nearby street and take a short walk along the trail to reach the bridge. The bridge not only serves as a stunning backdrop for photos, but the surrounding trees are vibrant with fall colors. See a fun family mini session captured at this location as well as a session with my senior rep team.
If your high school senior is looking for fall colors in their photos, look no further. This spot is full of color, and again gives some variety with the bridge as a great backdrop. My senior rep team met up for a quick session at this spot, and the leaves were just right.
I hope you've enjoyed discovering some locations around the greater Joplin area for your fall photography. With these spots in Joplin, Carthage, and Carl Junction, you're sure to find one close to you and your family.
