Delaney's Senior Session at The Grove, Carthage, MO

Meet Delaney! She's a Joplin High School senior this year, and I was so glad to get to photograph her. Delaney's senior session at The Grove, Carthage, MO was so perfect. She has a sweet connection to this location because of her relationship with the wonderful family who owns The Grove. It made this spot and session extra meaningful. As Delaney told me, it felt like a full circle moment. I know the memory of this session will be treasured for years to come.
A couple years ago, I had a chance meeting with Delaney when I was photographing a family (at The Grove, of all places). She was there with her family for her brother's senior photos with another photographer. I took note of what a great crew they were. Fast forward to Delaney's senior year at Joplin High School; she heard of my model team and wanted to know more. I met up with her and her mom for coffee (one of my favorite ways to meet and hers too). It was so fun to get to know them and to figure out if Senior Team was something Delaney wanted to do. It definitely was a perfect fit. She joined Senior Team where she'll be a part of 4 mini sessions for senior year as well as have her own personal photo shoot.
Back to this shoot at The Grove. We were here for Delaney's own session. She did a beautiful job picking her outfits. I love the blue and white top with jeans for a more casual look. It pairs really well with the orange flowers (I can't get enough of complementary colors). I knew the feminine cream top would be great with the roses, and finally THE dresses. Always bring the dresses. Her choices fit the location and summer season perfectly. Delaney had also packed Downey Wrinkle Release, brilliant move. I'm adding it to my list of necessary items to bring to every shoot. It absolutely did the trick on that flowy white dress.
Finally, can you believe that all of these images are taken at the same location? The Grove has so much to offer in just one spot, it's really all you need. It's also a private venue that can be booked for weddings, events, and photo sessions. That means we had the property all to ourselves. It has lots of summer florals, mature trees, grassy fields, winding paths, barns, fences, massive columns, and even stained glass. I don't think there's any other location that gives this much variety. It was fun to explore every little spot, and we did just that.

I loved getting to experience The Grove with you, photograph all your beautiful outfits, and find so many pretty blooms before they disappear.
